Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet,

This season we celebrate the 71st year since the founding of the Jacksonville Symphony. We are so grateful that we have been able to open our doors and continue our mission to enrich the human spirit through symphonic music.

The Jacksonville Symphony's 2020/21 season is in full swing and our Symphony Gala Fundraiser and Concert will be held on March 5 & 6, 2021.  For the first time ever, we will be going VIRTUAL for our Gala Fundraiser on March 5th. Complete with performances by Jacksonville Symphony ensembles, speeches by Music Director Courtney Lewis and President & CEO Steven Libman, and Live and Silent Auctions, this event showcases how the Symphony has continued to stir the soul of our community. The concert portion of the Gala will be LIVE on March 6th in Jacoby Symphony Hall with the amazing pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. We are so excited for everyone to join this fun two-night event!

Music has the power to transform our minds in what is almost an indescribable, multi-dimensional experience. It can raise our spirits when we are down, give us a reprieve from an ever-changing world and inspire us as we get lost in the phenomenon that happens during a performance.

As our world and our community continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, please help us make sure the Jacksonville Symphony remains healthy and vibrant. All funds raised from both evenings will benefit the Jacksonville Symphony and all of our programs.

Symphony Gala Concert

RAVEL   Piano Concerto in G major

BIZET   Carmen Suite No. 2

GERSHWIN   "I Got Rhythm" Variations

International superstar pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet brings his rock-star panache to Jacksonville, performing one of his signature piano concertos with roots in America's greatest musical gift to the world: jazz. Inspired by the American style's adoption in Europe, Maurice Ravel's G major Concerto features jazzy opening and closing movements that bracket a resplendent middle movement where time seems to stand still. Thibaudet follows with Gershwin's variations on perhaps his most famous tune, "I Got Rhythm."
